Distinctive cottage in the heart of the national park

Description of accommodation

Not far above the Elbe dam, a story of adventure is to be written in the middle of virgin nature. The story is yours—you can experience it in the charming cottage, which is waiting for you to discover it. Enjoy an undisturbed stay, with the atmosphere of wilderness, thanks to the stylish interior furnished with natural materials. Set out to explore the Giant Mountains and warm yourself by the blazing fireplace afterwards. Enjoy your breakfast outdoor on the terrace and end the day by visiting the private sauna just behind the cottage. Eventually, you can cool off in a wooden bathtub, watching the stars.

The main idea behind the cottage construction was to disrupt the surrounding nature as little as possible. That is why the accommodation works with an ecological concept and uses a heat pump for heating. The cottage boasts three bedrooms furnished in hunting style, fully equipped kitchen, stylish living room with a fireplace, dining room with a bar, children's room, three toilets and two bathrooms – one with a bathtub and one with a shower. There is also an outdoor patio with seating area, and a sauna with a wooden bathtub.

On foot, by car or on a motor sledge? Everything is possible. As the cottage is located in the zone of the highest protection of the national park, the access to it is possible only with the permission of the park management. We will be happy to arrange it for you – just send us a message when booking accommodation. If you do not want to drive up to the cottage or you are planning to visit in winter, parking is possible under the hill about 15 minutes from the cottage. In this case, we will arrange the import of luggage and supplies for you. And to make your trip to the cottage truly unforgettable, we can also schedule an adventurous trip on motor sledge.

What can you experience

in the area?

The surroundings of the cottage are embroidered with a dense network of hiking trails that lead to the hills, under the rocks, to waterfalls or perhaps to some local cuisine. In winter you can choose among one of the nearby ski slopes, starting with Labská and being far from over with Medvědín. Just wake your adventurous spirit and set off.

Elbe Dam

Not far below the cottage, the largest waterwork in the Giant Mountains stretches: the Elbe Dam. It has been protecting locals from floods caused by melting snow since 1914. From the dam, a marvelous two-hour walk along the Elbe leads to the centre of Špindlerův Mlýn and back. The balder members of the expedition can try out zorbing or zip-lining at the dam.

Elbe Waterfall

The Elbe Dam is the starting point for a hiking trail which will take you through Horní Mísečky to Medvědín and from there to Vrbatova bouda. On the way, you will overcome 715 metres (2,346 feet) of elevation gain, but that’s it for climbing. A scenic hiking trail leads from Vrbatova Bouda to the Elbe Waterfall and serves breathtaking views of the Elbe valley. You can then descend along the waterfall and return to Špindlerův Mlýn through the valley. The whole route is 24 kilometres (15 miles) long.

The White Elbe Inn

If you are looking for a shorter and easier route, where you can relax and entertain children, head to the inn by the White Elbe. Take a bus to the central bus station in Špindlerův Mlýn and head to the crossroad called U Dívčí Lávky, where you turn onto the Weber Trail along the White Elbe, and walk to the inn. Along the way, you will pass several ice cream stalls, a ropes course, mini golf, a children's playground and plenty of river views. And if you still have energy, you can explore the nature trail along the Čertova Strouha stream at the finish line.
